Throughout the year, Workplace Integra, Palmer Associates, and Audiology Consulting and Training are offering Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)-approved courses in multiple cities throughout the United States.

Workplace Integra CAOHC Occupational Hearing Conservation Technician Training

Course Details:

  • 3 Days
  • Days 1 and 2 (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
  • Day 3 (8:00 am to 12:00 Noon)
  • Fee: $625-$650

A 20-hour training that covers OSHA and MSHA noise standards. Courses are designed to train personnel who conduct hearing testing and implement or supervise hearing conservation programs. Trainings held at the corporate offices in Greensboro, NC include free continental breakfast, water, and snacks!

  • History of noise regulations
  • Anatomy and physiology of the ear
  • Sound measurement and noise exposure
  • Hearing testing using manual and automatic audiometers

Palmer House NIOSH Spirometry Courses

Course Details:

  • 2 Days
  • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day
  • Fee: $575 initial certification and $475 re-certification

Hands-on training packed with updated information. Upon completion of this course, you’ll know everything needed to perform a spirometry examination.You'll learn how to effectively manage test data, what results mean, and what OSHA regulations govern usage. Practice sessions expose you to a variety of flow and volume spirometers, and the pros and cons of each are discussed without biases or endorsements. This exposes you to multiple brands of devices so you can get comfortable with the one you like before purchasing for your occupational health program.

Audiology Consulting and Training CAOHC Audiometric Courses

Course Details:

  • 3 Days
  • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day
  • Fee: $695 initial certification and $475 re-certification
  • Currently, the training includes e-learning, required onsite practicum, and online final exam.

During the course, you will learn the importance of hearing loss prevention and routine audiometric testing.The various components of a compliant hearing conservation program (HCP) will be discussed in detail. These include:

  • Noise assessment
  • Noise abatement
  • Hearing protection
  • Audiometric testing
  • Employee training/motivation
  • And record keeping. 

The course is designed to prepare students to accurately obtain valid audiograms, calculate shifts in hearing, fit hearing protectors, and coordinate HCP’s).
